Dealing with the hands of time....

Have you ever been in the position to have something happen to postpone your dreams? No? Well, you must be unique!

Most people I know have had their dreams delayed by something in life. Those dreams are what we all strive to be or do in life. No matter the delays, stick to your dream.

I have worked many years learning - from the ground up- customer relations, business, and marketing. There have been numerous delays. Life has a way of dealing you those cards.

I think that it is how you handle the trials life throws your way. In my years (and I am not telling how many!), life has dealt me many trials. I always feel that these are paths that we must choose from.

Many times, we take the wrong paths. This is what causes us our delays. Many people tend to give up on a dream because they have trouble finding their way back. My friends, DON'T GIVE UP!

How many times in my life did I hear "You can't do that" or 'How silly to even think of trying to make money using one of THOSE programs!" Whew! Did I ever learn who I should trust with my ultimate goals in life. Of course, it was under the guise of 'caring'. That doesn't help whenever it is YOU who needs the money!

Many people do not understand the drive it takes to run a business. If you have problems sticking to goals to get to your dream, maybe, you should rethink it. If you cannot reach the goals, can you honestly tell me that you have the drive to run it if you ever reached them? I tend to think not.

Running a business is not for everyone. Some people just do not have the business mind, but are more of the type of person who needs to follow - rather than lead. Those types of people are workers. These are the ones we delegate everyday tasks to. They can perform them, after being told what to do.

Running a business needs a creative mind. Why? You have to be able to handle all the departments, and be creative enough to market your product. Each piece of your business has a place, and when interwoven, becomes the entire business. A puzzle - so to speak - that needs all the pieces to fit - to make it whole.

That is your job. To make all the pieces fit. No one said it would be perfect, or that there would not be times when it doesn't fit right. There will be those. That is where using the creativity comes in to play. Be creative enough to come up with a different strategy to make them fit.

Take what you learn from each mistake, each wrong turn, and use it as an experience to learn from. Don't ever think that following orders make you a leader. It doesn't. It does not make you stand out from the crowd. I do not mean to disobey the rules of the business, I mean to use your creativity to come up with solutions to the businesses problems. That is what it takes to be a leader, dealing with the problems that life throws your way.
